Throughout 2025, the founders of the Montenegro-Australia Chamber of Commerce (MACC) held a series of meetings with representatives of the Government of Montenegro, state institutions, local governments, and the business sector, with the aim of assessing opportunities for the development of future cooperation between Montenegro and Australia, as well as identifying potential joint projects and investment initiatives.

Meetings were held with representatives of multiple ministries and institutions, and discussions were focused on opportunities for economic connectivity, investment promotion, cooperation with the diaspora, and the strengthening of international business contacts. Special attention was given to sectors such as tourism, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and information technology, which were identified as areas with significant potential for development and attracting foreign investment.

The founders of the Chamber also held discussions with representatives of the domestic business community and entrepreneurs interested in connecting with the Australian market, as well as with successful business professionals from the diaspora operating in Australia. During the meetings, opportunities were explored for organizing business delegations, investment conferences, B2B meetings, and other activities aimed at strengthening economic relations between the two countries.

A particular focus of the discussions was on creating an institutional framework that would enable stronger engagement of the Montenegrin diaspora in Australia with projects and development initiatives in Montenegro. As noted during several meetings, many successful entrepreneurs of Montenegrin origin possess significant experience, capital, and international networks that could provide an additional boost to the development of the domestic economy.

Representatives of the MACC emphasized that the discussions identified a mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and establishing a platform that would provide a long-term link between institutions, companies, and investors from Montenegro and Australia. In the upcoming period, continued efforts are expected toward establishing partnerships and defining concrete projects that could be implemented through the Chamber’s future activities.

The founders of the Chamber assess that, over the past months, an important step forward has been made in establishing contacts and opening dialogue with relevant partners, which represents a solid foundation for the further development of the Montenegro-Australia Chamber of Commerce and the future economic integration between the two countries, Montenegro and Australia.
