By signing the Memorandum, the two institutions have established the foundations for a partnership that will contribute to connecting the Montenegrin and Australian business and innovation ecosystems, creating new opportunities for cooperation among companies, start- ups, research institutions, investors, and other relevant stakeholders.

The cooperation will focus on the exchange of knowledge and experience, the development of international partnerships, the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as the identification of opportunities for joint initiatives contributing to sustainable economic development and the internationalisation of Montenegro’s economy.

Particular attention will be dedicated to the fields of information technology, finance, education, energy, mining, sport, and tourism – sectors in which Australia is recognised as a global leader and where significant opportunities exist for developing partnerships with institutions and businesses from Montenegro.

The Director of the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, Valentina Radulović, highlighted that the Memorandum represents an important step towards further strengthening NTP Montenegro’s international cooperation and creating new opportunities for Montenegro’s innovation ecosystem.

“Science and Technology Park of Montenegro continuously works on establishing partnerships that provide domestic innovative companies, start-ups, and researchers with access to international markets, knowledge, and investment opportunities. Cooperation with the Montenegro–Australia Chamber of Commerce represents a new opportunity to connect with one of the world’s most advanced innovation and business ecosystems, further strengthening the international dimension of our activities and creating the foundations for the development of new joint initiatives,” said Radulović.

The founders of the Montenegro–Australia Chamber of Commerce, Petar Tomašević and Marko Lopičić, stated that the Memorandum represents the beginning of a long-term partnership that will contribute to stronger connections between the business and innovation communities of Montenegro and Australia.

“Australia is one of the world’s most developed economies and a global leader in areas such as mining, energy, financial services, education, and technological innovation. Our vision is for the Montenegro–Australia Chamber of Commerce to serve as an institutional bridge between the two countries, connecting companies, investors, research institutions, and experts, including the successful Montenegrin diaspora in Australia. We are confident that this partnership with the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro will contribute to the creation of new business opportunities, knowledge transfer, and the attraction of high-quality investments that will have a long-term positive impact on Montenegro’s economy,” said Tomašević and Lopičić.

The Memorandum of Cooperation provides a framework for future joint activities in areas of strategic importance for the development of innovation and the competitiveness of Montenegro’s economy.
